Gopinath was sitting with another man, and as we walked by, I asked if I could take a picture of them, with the boat shown in the background. They didn’t speak a word of English, but with sign language, they understood what I wanted. His friend wanted nothing to do with being photographed, but Gopinath was OK with it.
