Slide Shows

Breathe new life into your still photos!

If you’re like my family, when you come home from a trip, you end up with 4 cameras’ worth of photos.  Some of them are duplicates of the same scene, some don’t turn out, but you may end up with hundreds of stunning images chronicling that once-in-a-lifetime trip.  And they end up languishing on your computer’s hard drive until you burn them to a disk or – heaven forbid – they are lost when your computer crashes.

To preserve, showcase or share your photos, you have several options. You can print them all on photo paper, and, along with all your brochures and ticket stubs, make a really nice scrapbook that you’ll treasure for years.  I’ve got boxes of scrapbooks – unfortunately, “some assembly is required.”  On the other hand, you can share them on an online photo service, or spend a little cash and publish a “photo book.”  You can invite friends and family over, and huddle around the computer monitor clicking through the photos one by one.

But why not have them turned into a video?   Then you can watch them on your DVD player/television, post them online for faraway friends or family, or send copies to them in the mail (better yet, you can have TAZM Pictures duplicate them for you!)

Think of a video slide show as a kind of electronic scrapbook – only more.  You can include all your best photos, scan all those brochures and ticket stubs; have them digitally enhanced; add some sound and visual effects, opening and closing titles and credits, transitions and subtitles or captions, and then have the whole thing synched to a piece of theme-specific music so that the whole thing really POPS.  For those of you old enough to remember endless slide shows on a projector at Grandpa’s,
it’s the same concept, only taken to a whole new level.  Using software-driven zooms, pans and other effects, you may even forget they’re still photos!

Photos taken in our back yard over the year tell the story of the changing seasons

Consider elements such as having multiple photos on screen at the same time, picture-in-picture effects, captions to explain the action, or even combining a number of different images – a la Photoshop – into a single scene.  Once we get a look at your photos, the creative juices will start to flow, and you’re sure to be pleasantly surprised by the results! You can even combine stills and video clips for variety.

Slide shows can be used to showcase any set of still photos, not just vacations.  Weddings, parties, special events – maybe even a slideshow created from photos of a family member or of a pet, that you have gathered over the years.  You’re only limited by your imagination – and ours!

We’ll package your slide show any way you like, but recommend a custom DVD and cover created especially from your photos, and we’ll throw in a CD or data DVD with the video file in several formats:  one high-resolution file in case you want to edit it later; a medium-sized file that is optimal for posting to an online video hosting service; and a tiny e-mailable file.  Questions?  Send us an e-mail!
