Since then, I&#8217;ve become a collector and user of more than a hundred film cameras, most of which are older than I am, and blogged about that.  And about my experiences in many of the interesting places my work has taken me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, at age 53, I finally made the leap to learn &#8220;proper&#8221; documentary filmmaking, and completed a master&#8217;s in journalism at the University of California.  My thesis film &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/thesearchdocu.com\">The Search<\/a>&#8221; won a number of awards in the film festival circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m currently based in Nouakchott, Mauritania, making my plans for a full-time journalism career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Never give up on your dreams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I started this blog in 2009 as an outlet for my passion in video editing.
