{"id":1987,"date":"2013-09-02T18:44:08","date_gmt":"2013-09-02T17:44:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=1987"},"modified":"2025-10-16T17:25:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T16:25:01","slug":"getting-better-at-black-and-white","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=1987","title":{"rendered":"Getting Better at Black and White"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I love my Kodak Monitor 620 &#8211; this camera from the 1940s has taken a bit of time to master &#8211; especially since I&#8217;m new to film \/ analog photography anyway &#8211; &nbsp;but I&#8217;m finally getting quality images out of it. &nbsp;Just wanted to share:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tazmpictures\/9630659728\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/9630659728_cd83e89ff4.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"View from Crater Lake\" style=\"width:670px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m amazed at the detail you can get from medium format film. I don&#8217;t think you can get resolution like this from 35mm. This shot is from Crater Lake, looking outward away from the lake. The same point about detail \/ resolution goes for the photo below as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tazmpictures\/9630493006\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/9630493006_9c7c70f3d8.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"Bridge\" style=\"width:670px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tazmpictures\/9627388819\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/9627388819_9bb88e3b77.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"O'Brien Post Office\" style=\"width:670px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this old police sedan parked out front, this looks like it could be from the 1950s &#8211; but this scene from O&#8217;Brien, Oregon is taken in 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/tazmpictures\/9627340757\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/9627340757_f9508dee81.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"Barn\" style=\"width:670px;height:auto\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an old barn in eastern Oregon &#8211; I love how it came out. The roof blends into the sky a bit, but other than that it&#8217;s much better than I expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And lastly, these street musicians.
