13 rolls of Ektachrome slide film requiring processing using E2 and E3 chemical processes, neither of which have been available since the early 1970s. \u00a0The photos were mostly in and around Yellowstone National Park; a few rolls were marked &#8220;eclipse&#8221; (they didn&#8217;t turn out) &#8211; and then there was this roll with an odd mix of photos on it.<\/p>\n<p>This batch of photos all came out way too dark after processing (in black and white chemicals) &#8211; with a thick additional layer that I could probably have worked to remove, but was afraid to damage the image (see <a href=\"https:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=2957\" target=\"_blank\">part 1 in this series<\/a>). \u00a0They were too dark to be picked up by my scanner, so I had to use my <a href=\"https:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=2272\" target=\"_blank\">Coca-Cola case lightbox trick<\/a> again. \u00a0I photographed them with a backlight, which produced something like this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/DSC_0012.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3069\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/DSC_0012.jpg?resize=600%2C601&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"DSC_0012\" width=\"600\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/DSC_0012.jpg?resize=600%2C601&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/DSC_0012.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/DSC_0012.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/DSC_0012.jpg?w=2000&amp;ssl=1 2000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I then used photoshop to invert the digital image (using black and white processing turned what should have been &#8220;slide film&#8221; some sort of amusement park?
