{"id":3280,"date":"2014-09-26T16:26:09","date_gmt":"2014-09-26T15:26:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=3280"},"modified":"2014-09-25T16:59:16","modified_gmt":"2014-09-25T15:59:16","slug":"found-film-friday-only-briefly-misplaced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=3280","title":{"rendered":"Found Film Friday:  Only Briefly Misplaced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every week I post a roll of &#8220;found&#8221; film that has been forgotten in someone&#8217;s attic or inside a camera, often for half a century. \u00a0You never know what you&#8217;re going to end up with though. \u00a0With the old spools, it&#8217;s pretty clear that the pictures will be pretty old, and often yield a few surprises from yesteryear. \u00a0Half the time, I don&#8217;t get any pictures at all &#8211; and this gets worse the older the film.<\/p>\n<p>With 35mm film, the success rate is much higher, and often the photos are 30-40 years old. \u00a0But you never really know for sure.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s roll came from an admittedly pretty shiny roll of Kodak 35mm film. \u00a0But I was still hopeful something cool would come out of it. \u00a0I held up the negatives to the light, and saw a bunch of pictures kind of like this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/img015neg.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-3281\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/img015neg.jpg?resize=600%2C374&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"img015neg\" width=\"600\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/img015neg.jpg?resize=600%2C374&amp;ssl=1 600w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/img015neg.jpg?resize=300%2C187&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/img015neg.jpg?w=2000&amp;ssl=1 2000w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/img015neg.jpg?w=3000&amp;ssl=1 3000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I thought, &#8220;boring&#8221; and wasn&#8217;t going to even bother scanning them, until I realized it was a whole bunch of shots of the same building from the same spot &#8211; a sort of &#8220;time lapse&#8221; of some building under construction. So I decided to scan them after all, and thought it would be fun to do something different, and string them all together in a time-lapse sort of video.
