{"id":632,"date":"2011-09-23T23:57:11","date_gmt":"2011-09-23T22:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=632"},"modified":"2025-05-17T19:34:54","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T18:34:54","slug":"coming-soon-a-war-correspondent-sim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tazmpictures.com\/site\/?p=632","title":{"rendered":"Coming soon: a &#8220;War Correspondent Sim&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>They&#8217;ve got video games for folks who like just about everything:&nbsp; golf, team sports, fishing, hunting, horseys, shooting bad guys, flinging birds from giant slingshots&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now there&#8217;s a game for folks who like editing videos.&nbsp; Instead of actually editing videos, you can play a video game where you edit pretend videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seriously, the game <a href=\"http:\/\/defiantdev.com\/warco\/\" target=\"_blank\">Warco by Defiant Development<\/a> is a new kind of war game: instead of using a machine gun to spray down hordes of enemy troops, your job is now to film the action as a war correspondent.&nbsp; And then, using the &#8220;film&#8221; you&#8217;ve captured (I assume avoiding enemy bullets is still an issue), you must use your editing and storytelling skills to create a compelling narrative for the TV news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most original takes I&#8217;ve seen on the &#8220;first person shooter&#8221; genre, I&#8217;m interested to see how this does on the market.
