Rashid was very kind to show us around the Alamgir Mosque, located along the banks of the Ganges River in Varanasi. His family have been the caretakers of the mosque for generations. The mosque is surrounded by a Hindu neighborhood and thus doesn’t get as much traffic as other mosques in the city, but it looks impressive from the river.
After the tour I asked for a photo but it was only later that I noticed the reflection in his glasses.
